Ghostly Face Appears in a Mirror Haunted House Illusion

The effect has the best effectiveness at the end of your hallway. As your visitors walk down your hallway, they will find a mirror with a wooden frame on the backend wall. Looking into the reflection they will see the image of a ghostly face appearing in the mirror.

Ghostly Face Appears in a Mirror Haunted House Illusion

To produce the effect, you’ll need a two way mirror (or a mirrored plexigalss) fixed on the wall at the end of your hallway. You also need to place some weak lighting on the front side of the wall, which will be always on. To seem like a actual mirror on the wall, build a wooden frame around the ‘mirror’. Behind the wall is the a person in a ghostly face mask equipped with a light dimmer to weaken the lights mounted behind the wall. The ‘masked person‘ should be in complete darkness with the lights turned off. At this stage, the visitors will only see their own reflection in the mirror. As the visitors look into the mirror, the masked person slightly turns the lights on and he is thus dimly illuminated. At this point, the visitors will see their own reflection but also what seems to be the image of the ghostly face.

St. Patrick’s Day Party Turns Green

“How about another round of the creature?” Steven slurred in a mock Irish accent. He had only been passing through Ballymore on his way to Dublin- one more stop on this European tour before leaving for college; all on his parent’s credit card. The crowd of regulars grumbled in their drinks at the annoyance, but didn’t complain- he had been unwittingly buying high-end pints, colored a festive green for St. Patrick’s Day, all night for the sullen group. The bartender cheerily filled the sudden appearance of hastily-emptied glasses, and then marked on the Steven’s growing tab.

Leprechauns Ghost Story and Green Beer

One man stood from his corner booth, his aged legs creaking with the exertion. Slowly, he made his way to the bar and sat next to the American. He pushed his glass towards the bartender who obediently filled it from the tap; the old man pointed to Steven- the drink went on his tab.

When no one was within earshot, the man lifted the glass to his mouth, and whispered from behind the rim. “You want to go,” he said. Steven processed the words through his drunken mind, thinking about each syllable. Frustrated, the man spoke again, louder- this time from behind a napkin that concealed the movement of his mouth. “Go.”

The words suddenly made sense to Steven, who realized that his bladder had filled with the generous amount of green beer that he had consumed. “Yeah… I do,” he slurred as he nearly fell from the stool. Steadying himself on his feet, he stumbled towards the back of the pub where he thought he had remembered the bathrooms to be. All eyes followed him as he stumbled towards the back, only resuming their conversations once he had disappeared around the short hallway.

After several doors and accompanying corridors, Steven began to realize that he was far from the bathrooms. Instead, he was in a dark section of the building that he suspected to be underground. While still drunk, he had the presence of mind to know that he wasn’t where he was supposed to be and the understanding to know that he should be afraid. He began to backtrack through the hallways and unremembered stairs, but only became more lost. When he came upon a large, heavy wooden door, he hesitated; pressing his ear to the cool wood, he heard what sounded like traffic. Outside, he thought, screw the tab. He pushed the door open, soon realizing that what he heard was not traffic, but rather machinery. Large pumps that were fed from ancient pipes and emptied into an equally aged stirring vat- it was the green beer, but appeared to be thicker.

Creepy Glowing Eyes Halloween Candles Decorations

In order to make these wonderful little demons you will need: medium sized food cans, black spray paint, can-hole punch of those used to make triangular holes in the cans, small paper Dixie cups and votive candles. It is recommended to have cans for pork and beans or dog food as they have the right size to suitable display the light out the eyes. Please note that soup cans are too small, while V8-sized cans are just large enough for our purpose.

Halloween Candles Decorations

Now, here are the steps to follow to make these demons: spray the cans black and then punch triangular holes for the eyes. Don’t forget to also make ventilation hole in the back of the can. Place the candles into the Dixie cup and then put the can over the lighted candle in the cup.

These are very simple but quite creepy. The flickering eyes shining from the shadows are rather scary, as the black cans will simply disappear in the dark, only the gleaming eyes remaining visible. Put a demon at the base of some bushes for a great effect, or place several cans close together for a bunch of demons! You might want to put them on some bricks or rocks for taller demons! These are just perfect accessories for graveyards!

Eye Bead Demons are for mainly outdoor purpose. However, if you want to use them indoors, fill a container with soil to protect surfaces from the heat and put the Demons on the bed of soil. Keep the demons away from children preventing them to touch or trip over the cans. Remember to cut vent hole on the back of the can or the candle will not burn intensely. Don’t throw them away after Halloween, as you can use them year after year.

So, put the can over the lighted candle in the Dixie cup and enjoy your Eye Bead Demons.

The Bump In The Night Was Death At My Doorstep

We, as human beings, have had certain fears engrained in us, back from long before history was recorded. Most made sense, for the time, and stayed with us through our shared desire to survive. The sound of thunder could also be a stampeding herd of beasts; the dark hid predators and other dangers; dark waters hid all sorts of creatures. But each culture has a common myth, something that we can’t explain quite as easily. We are somehow innately afraid of pale, distorted figures with sunken eyes and sharpened teeth- something that ; we can’t explain the commonality, and we call them zombies or vampires , or sometimes demons or wraiths- whatever we can do to make sense of our collective fears. But it was inescapable that something in our distant past gave us those long-repressed memories.

The Bump In The Night Was Death At My Doorstep

The thought had occurred to me in my youth, and worried me to an insignificant degree for years. Of course, I tended to be very good at worrying, courtesy of an absent father and an overprotective mother, so I never put too much stock in it. I was grown now, with a wife and a son of my own; and on this early Saturday morning, it was my son that jolted me awake with a piercing scream.

I didn’t panic, like I had when his nightmares started. At first, I’d bolt out of bed and run to his room in a panic, where I’d find him sitting stiffly upright with his eyes locked open. He’d tell me about the dream, and I’d stay with him until he was able to sleep again. We took him to a shrink after a couple of days; she called it “night terrors”, which explained his extreme reactions and its relative frequency. The dreams were always the same; there would be a man at the foot of his bed, standing and staring at him when he opened his eyes. The man was tall and pale, with large sunken eyes that seemed to pull in the light around it, and dressed in a loose black tunic that covered the entirety of his body. He would break into a wide grin when my son would startle, revealing ragged and broken teeth as he stretched an inhumanly long arm towards the terrified child. It was then that my son would find the breath to scream, and I would come. Invariably, he would tell me that the creature would scurry under the bed with a mixture of a cackle and a moan just moments before I came into the room.
