Create your own Spooky Halloween Costume for Parties
Are Halloween costumes too overpriced for you? Or, are you sick of going as the same ghosts and ghouls and are searching for something different this year? Do you wish to have a look that no one else has? If you said “YES” to any or all of these questions, then creating your own Halloween costume is the way to go!
Even if you’ve never done this before, creating your unusual Halloween costume isn’t hard! If you stick to this step by step plan, you’ll have a spooky and eerie Halloween costume in no time. Yet, it is very important that you start this work right now! Do not wait until the last possible second!
1. Creating the personality: The number one thing you need to do is to make a sketch of your Halloween character on paper, because anything you write down will get imprinted on your mind. Once you’ve got a clear idea of the type of costume you would like to make, tit will be easy to create.
2. Collect pieces of clothes: The reason why I asked you to start early is that you will need time to collect the different clothes that might be lying around your house. If you have a maid of honor dress, prom gown, towels, ties, bag cloth pieces, etc., gather them up all!
Do not be too judgmental at this stage: pick up everything that grabs your eye. You never know which piece of material could come to your assistance when making the costume. Also, do not care if all the garments you collect are not of the same color; if you are a bit creative, you will find it simpler to make a costume out of multi-colored clothes than with same-colored clothes!
Do you have some elderly women in your neighborhood who you believe may have out-of-date clothes in their cupboards or closets? If yes, you might be able to visit them and ask them to lend some of those clothes to you. With old clothes you might be able to make a costume of a Victorian or early 20th century Halloween monster. Now, don’t that sound entertaining and exciting?
3. Do not be a perfectionist: Far too many people waste their valuable time making their Halloween costumes look “perfect”. Trust me, you do not need to have a perfect costume; it just needs to REPRESENT your character, even if in a VAGUE manner! That is right, it doesn’t have to match the character exactly!
Just start making the costume and I am sure you will get a good deal of imaginative ideas along the way. You can even ask your friends to give you a helping hand; remember that two heads are better than one!
4. Get the extras: Would a freak look frightening without his weapons? No. So, along with creating a Halloween costume, you also need to buy the accessories that you believe belong with the character. Accessories can be anything from Halloween contact lenses, make-up, masks, toy guns, etc.
