Easily Made Moving Ghoul Prop for Your Haunted House

We are talking about a grim ghoul standing in front of your haunt, with its head slowly turning from side to side.

Basically, the ghoul’s head is just a mask over an adapted oscillating fan. Once the fan is turned on, the head turns back and forth as the fan moves.

Moving Ghoul Prop for Your Haunted House

Here are the materials you need: some black fabric, ghoul mask, a small oscillating fan, boxes of different sizes, paper bowl and plate, and plastic (one gallon) milk container. The total approximate cost is from $8.00 to $10.00.

Step 1 – take out the standard blades and grill from the fan.

Step 2 – after the blades are removed, you have to make smaller propeller for the fan. It is best to make the propeller from a rectangular piece of some pliable plastic. For that, a one-gallon mil container would be just great. Fold up the plastic to make the blades and cut a hole in the middle to attach it to the fan.

Step 3 –next, you have to make a covering for the propeller in a way that it doesn’t catch on the mask. Cut off a circle of a paper bowl, make a few holes in the sides for the ventilation and fix it to the fan all around the propeller. With a blade make a few vent holes in a paper plate and fix it to the bowl, fully enfolding the propeller.

Step 4 – Place the mask over the fan in a way that the propeller is in the back. The fabric of the back of the mask should allow some sort of ventilation.

Displaying the Ghoul

Find suitable boxes to create the body of the ghoul. With a rather large piece of black fabric wrap the entire ghoul. You will probably need to make certain modifications till it looks good enough.
