Building Cheap Halloween Dummies Props

A numerous collection of dummies are a great asset for anyone’s haunt.

Halloween Dummies PropsHere is the list of the needed materials:

- old clothing, such as long sleeve shirt, gloves, pants or shoes, etc;
- some sewing materials;
- plastic bags;
- old newspaper;
- empty gallon;
- packing peanuts;
- safety pins;
- black paint;
- wooden poles;
- some cheap mask.

Here are the steps to build the dummies:

1. First, you need to sew that dummy up, starting from the waist where the bottom of the shirt runs into the top of the pants. Next, sew the already stuffed gloves or safety pin the big hands to the sleeves.

2. Now, you need to fill your plastic bags with newspapers. This is the part when you have to determine the amount you want in each bag for your dummy to look realistic.

3. You should now have a dummy with filled arms and legs but without head and feet. It is the part where the packing peanuts are going to be used. These will maintain the shape of the dummies much better than newspaper. Just fill a plastic bag with packing peanuts and cover it with another bag for additional protection on the peanuts.

4. The peanuts are now positioned into the torso of the body and it depends on you how much you want in there for a realistic look.

5. Your dummy now needs feet. Take the old pair of shoes and a couple of safety pins. In fact, you just safety pin the shoes to the base of the pant legs which will also hold in the newspaper bag.

6. The next step is the place the head on. For that, you will need the empty gallon previously painted in black.

7. Place the black empty gallon in the dummies head with the handle in front and with the nozzle aiming down in the direction of the opening of the mask. The hole can also be used for poles to hold the dummy up.

8. Safety pin the mask to the neck of the dummy. The head might flop over so put a back bone in and drive it into the ground for the dummy to stand up or just leave it within the shirt.

9. Present your dummy in a way to appear as a genuine monster or a dead body. You might even consider tearing off arms, legs or his head. Make the most out of your yard scene!
