Recite The Raven like Vincent Price this Halloween Free e Book
On a cold day in January 1845 the Evening Mirror published “The Raven” bringing the author instant success.
Edgar Allan Poe (born on January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was a poet, and writer. Best know for his tales of horror and the macabre. Born the second child in Boston, Massachusetts; he was an orphan that was never formally adopted. Married in 1835 to his 13-year-old cousin Virginia, her death was said to inspired some of his writing.
“The Raven” tells of a mysterious visit of a talking bird and a man’s decent in supernatural madness. What better then to recite this for your guests at your Halloween party. The poem has became a popular culture classic made in films, music and television shows. I have included the video from the master of horror Vincent Price showing how powerful this poem can be.
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“‘Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door —
Only this, and nothing more.”
